If you’re into the indie/rock music scene and are in Sheffield, head to Leadmill. The live music and club venue is well known on the indie scene particularly for its association with the Arctic Monkeys, a Sheffield based band.
Being one of Sheffield’s main night spots many students are attracted by its cool and famous club vibe as well as its cheap drinks but it also has a large clientele of artists and the unemployed too, according to the website. With plenty of live gigs introducing up and coming stars this is one venue not to miss.
There’s a selection of club nights to choose from including Shag on Monday’s and Teenage Kicks on Tuesdays. Visit the website for information on more club nights and upcoming live gigs.

You may have heard of the CC Club in Piccadilly, London probably because of its endless celebrity attendees. The likes of Girls Aloud, Sugababes, Eastenders stars and Chelsea footballers to name a few have walked up the CC Club red carpet but you also may have heard of it, because of its R&B, hip hop, soulful house and funk party vibe. The popular and star studded venue holds club nights on Friday and Saturday nights which are fresh and glamorous. The purple venue is airy, cool and reasonably spacious with a Dom Perignon room available for private parties of 30 maximum.
Visit the CC Club website for more information about the venue, club nights and guest list.

Before I went to New York my friend very kindly recommended what sounded to me like a whole other tourist attraction. The View Restaurant & Lounge perched on top of the Marriott Hotel in Times Square is definitely worth a visit.
The restaurant and lounge I speak of is a revolving restaurant on top of the hotel with 360 degree spectacular views of the city. Enjoy a buffet service with as much as you can eat be it salad, meat or dessert and an extensive drinks menu. Smart décor and floor to ceiling windows make this a restaurant hotspot but a word to those who suffer from sickness; although the restaurant spins slowly it can be a little nauseating.
Visit the website for more information and to make a booking if you plan to visit New York.

There comes a time in your life where you examine your past and fantasise about your future. As part of my epiphany, so to speak I decided amongst other experiences that the Amazon is a must for me. The Amazon rainforest is the largest rainforest in the world located in the north of South America, covering 5.5 million square kilometres of Brazil and eight other countries. Travelling through the tropical rainforest can be difficult so brace yourself for what might be one of the best experiences of your life.
Beginning with a welcoming reception from your tour guides you can look forward to Piranha fishing, sleeping in hammocks, many a small boat ride, lots of trekking and lots of wild life. During your journey expect to see monkeys, armadillos, red eyed frogs, deadly snakes and many more insects.
Visit www.amazon-rainforest.org for more information about the Amazon Rainforest experience and then arrange your dream as you wish.

Once again the Rio carnival returns and is livelier than ever. This year it begins on Saturday the 2nd of February until ‘Fat Tuesday’ the 5th of February. I know it’s Monday morning but if you happen to be in Rio get yourself down there or just remember the month for 2009’s carnival.
With so much to do the carnival is one of the liveliest and most talked about events in South America. Samba parades, carnival balls, Rio scala, Samba land, merry making in Lapa, Samba school nights and street parties are just some of the forms of entertainment on offer, it is an event not to be missed.
Visit the Rio Carnival website for information about tickets and prices or just head to the street parties for free and party the night away.

Accessories are a key part in the overall beach chic look so it’s important to accessorize well.
So, you’ve got the bikini, the sun cream, the beach bag and the shades now you need the towel. Emilio Pucci just happens to have created an ultra chic Orchidea Print Beach Towel which is ‘so’ St Tropez. The multi coloured towel has a block colour boarder and is plain white on the underside. Wear an electric blue bikini like the Diane Van Furstenberg love know bikini I mentioned in the previous blog or go for other colours shown on the towel to match and compliment.
Get your Emilio Pucci towel now at Net-A-Porter for £140.

My email account is constantly being bombarded with emails about ‘hot London clubs’ so for a friends Birthday we decided to check out Umbaba, an African inspired venue that has often been written about.
Pleasantly surprising, the venue is more spacious than some of the other ‘elite’ nightclubs I’ve experienced in London. The décor throughout the venue in keeps with the African theme and creates a light airy and relaxed vibe in the club. Music ranges from funky house to RnB Located off Carnaby Street in London the club is in the heart of the west end. There is an extensive cocktail menu but as you would expect the drinks are pricey. Single spirits and mixers cost around £9 but for a luxurious night out are worth it.
Visit Umbaba at 15-21 Ganton Street, London, W1 or go to the website to see the venue for yourself.

Nothing gets me in the mood for summer more, than seeing the swim wear option on my favourite clothing websites.
The January holiday sales are in motion and all I can think about is what bikini shall I invest in this year (a new bikini is an annual shopping ritual). I headed to Net-A-Porter for its fantastic line up of swimwear this season and I am impressed and in love. This Diane Von Furstenberg bikini has caught my eye. Turquoise is a great colour to go for when showing of that tan and the cute love knot details are a lovely top off. The bikini has a self tie top – excellent for comfort and the bottoms have skinny sides which can be quite flattering.
Get your Diane Von Furstenberg Love Knot Bikini at Net-A-Porter, priced at £118.
